Monday .. our weather has been controlled by the ‘Unnamed Tropical Thing’ that was over the Bahamas and is now over the centurial part of Florida .. ie we are on the bottom side .. so today looks like we are going to have off-and-on showers but the weather should get back to normal on Tuesday ..

Cubans smuggled to Crandon Park Beach

Thirty-nine Cuban migrants were discovered early Sunday on Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. The U.S. Border Patrol said they were smuggled aboard a go-fast boat.

The group included 28 men, eight women and three children. They appeared to be in good health, said Border Patrol spokesman Steve McDonald.

''This is a confirmed smuggling event,'' McDonald said. ``They were brought here under a criminal act.''

.. we spent the morning doing ‘stuff’ around Dee Light .. we changed out the Fuel Filters on both Engines and did much cleaning of the interior of Dee Light .. in the afternoon we took the Dinghy out and toured around the Harbour .. we ended up at the local Dive Shop Bar for a drink before we headed back to Snook’s Bayside Dining for dinner and the sunset ..

.. on Tuesday the winds were down so we took the Dinghy to the John Pennekamp Park Marina and Dive Center where we had lunch with the ‘Birds’ .. later we took the Casino Boat out for dinner, a sunset and yes Betty was the BIG winner ..

.. Wednesday morning we put Little Dee back on the Bow of Dee Light and got things ready to depart in the morning .. we spent the afternoon doing Snorkeling aboard Key Divers .. it became overcast when we were out but the Snorkeling was still GREAT .. later we had an Italian Dinner at Café Largo just a short walk from the Marina ..

.. on Thursday morning we waited for the Tied before heading out ..once we made it out of the LONG ‘L’ shaped Channel and thru the Jetty we entered the Atlantic Ocean in about 7 feet of water .. once we made it to Hawks Channel we had good water and near smooth Seas all the way to Miami .. we had a great trip to Miami .. 2 footers at best and we were docked at the Miami Beach Marina before the Sea Breese was able to kick up any afternoon showers .. the Marina is located just off the Government Cut Waterway at the base of a huge South Beach Condos .. and the Marina is home to many Boats that we have only seen at Boat Shows ..

.. I talked to my Son Jon and found out that they ( PASSION ) are going to be arriving here on Friday .. in addition to two very good Restaurants there are also a number of Shops right at the Marina .. the Miami Beach Deli Market, Tarpoon Lagoon Dive Shop, etc and the H and C Marina Store that catteries to Boat Owners of all size Boats . we walked from the Marina to the ‘night life’ area of South Beach .. it is most enjoyable to just look at the people that are at South Beach .. it is a smorgasbord for your Eyes .. we had a drink at Mango’s Tropical Café where the Miami HEAT had their party after winning the 2006 NBA Championship .. before heading back to the Boat we had dinner at Caffe Miland an Italian Restaurant .. Betty did not enjoy the Shrimp that she ordered as they were looking at her with their big Eyes ..

.. on Friday we had two Tropical Things affecting our weather .. one in the Mexico area pushing weather towards us and a second one in the Virgin Island area pushing the weather towards us .. sooooo we have ended up with very mixed weather and ‘so so’ weather for picture taking .. in the afternoon PASSION with its Fishing Boat in toe made it to the Marina .. right behind them was one of the other Boats ( ISLAND PURSUIT – 74 foot Hatters ) that will be traveling with them to the Bahamas ..

.. later we had dinner with Jon at Monty’s .. the scenery was great at Monty’s as it is located in the heart of the Marina and it has become a Restaurant of choice for many young singles in the South Beach area .. the food was great also ..

.. Saturday morning we checked out at the Marina and headed out of the Marina for Fort Lauderdale on our carefully laid out course only to be abruptly STOPPED by the local Water Patrol .. apparently since 911 the Government Cut is closed to all Pleasure Craft when there is a Cruise Ship in Port .. we took one illegal photo of one of the Cruise Ships that was in Port before we turned around and took the legal Inlet Route to the ICW .. UFFFFDA !! .. it was slow going as we headed North on the ICW but well worth doing the ICW in lieu of going outside and missing all that there is to see on the ICW .. we had lowered out Antennas before heading out so we could get under most all the Bridges and it was worth is as we only had to two Bridges open up for us .. we made it to the land of the super Boats ( Bahia Mar Yachting Center ) and had Dee Light snug in her Slip by 01:15 pm .. we took a long walk and found the BUSTED FLUSH Plaque and we enjoyed the Swings at the Oasis Café ( a local landmark ) .. we walked to the Southeast corner of the Marina Basin for dinner at the Bahia Cabana .. the restaurant overlooks the South Marina Basin and is a popular Boaters Restaurant ..

.. Sunday .. talk about overcast but at least its not raining .. so we launched the Dinghy and explored the waters ending up at Shooters Restaurant for lunch .. on our return trip to Dee Light it started to lighting and thunder .. an early Fourth of July .. and were got wet before we made it back to Dee Light .. when we did make it back Autumn was gone .. off the Boat .. she is terrified with stormy weather and had fled the Boat for who knows where .. we found her in the Bahia Mar Hotel Lobby in the arms of some people that rescued her from under a car out on Highway A1A that in the main Highway right in front of the Hotel and the Beach .. I was glad to see her safe but not half as happy as she was to see me ..

.. in the afternoon Betty’s son Danny and his family joined us on Dee Light .. they live in Stuart about 100 miles North of Fort Lauderdale .. we walked the Beach and had a great dinner aboard Dee Light ..
